United Launch Alliance (ula) Mechanical Engineering Internship - Summer 2025 in Centennial, Colorado

Job Overview & Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at United Launch Alliance, you'll gain hands-on experience and have an opportunity to, but not limited to:

Perform analysis on existing flight hardware, assist in the design and development of future hardware, perform analysis for both completed and future launches, test, and gain exposure to systems engineering, mission integration, quality assurance, system safety, launch operations, or production operations.

Perform data analysis and work on analysis methodology improvement projects, software improvement projects, trade studies, manufacturer studies, creating or modifying tool designs, processing cause and corrective actions for non-conformances, maintain production work instructions, supplier management, and component or integrated systems test.

Internships may require travel to suppliers, customers, or other ULA locations.

Interns will typically support one or more experienced engineers in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of engineering.

Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the ULA community and with fellow interns!

Required Education

At minimum, completedSophomoreyear of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment. High School/GED

Basic Qualifications

Must have a minimum college GPA of 2.90 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application; cumulative, no rounding. NOTE: An unofficial transcript is required if you are invited for an interview. We recommend you upload it to your profile when you apply.

Must have a valid driver's license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned an internship in Alabama; California; Florida; or Pueblo, Colorado. For Denver, Colorado and Washington, DC, motorized transportation is recommended.

Role Specific Qualifications

At minimum, actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or unive

Must have plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2025.

Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the Summer of 2025.

Working knowledge of basic engineering application tools like: NX NASTRAN SolidWorks Mathcad CREO Other design and analysis tools

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)

Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills

Must be able to complete an internship at any of the below ULA's locations: Denver, CO Pueblo, CO Cape Canaveral, FL Decatur, AL Vandenburg, CA

Summary Salary Range: CO: $23.60- $34.70 CA: $24.80-$36.30 Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
