The Solution Engineer will support CCR Media objectives and will be a top-level technical resource for implementation and support of our products and solutions within the business unit with a focus on new products, backend systems and custom solutions. At times, this role may help implement and support our service portfolio across other business units and engineering new solutions.

What You’ll Accomplish and Experience

  • Utilize an understanding of service needs to identify automation opportunities, ensuring speedier, reliable, and agile offerings, and develop and test these solutions according to specifications.

  • Foster relationships with cross-functional teams, actively engaging in solution brainstorming, business support, and weekly project discussions.

  • Participate in the design, analysis, evaluation, and integration of automation scripts, systems, networks, and both internal and external product designs, while creating prototypes and specifying products to generate innovative solutions.

  • Contribute to policy development and regularly update technical documentation while complying with security procedures and recommending infrastructure improvements.

  • Maintain an operations-centric approach by prioritizing operational needs in solution design, project launches, and service delivery, while professionally responding to inquiries within established guidelines.

  • Regularly explore new technologies and keep updated with technology trends to maintain familiarity with all products and services offered, thereby setting the technical direction for CCR Media Operations and Professional Services.

  • Manage complex work statements and toolset integration while maintaining a consistent schedule.

    Desirable Previous Experience

  • Certifications and Education:

  • Required: CCNA routing and switching, JNCIA-Junos, or equivalent skills.

  • Required: Linux+, LPIC, RHCSA or equivalent skills.

  • Required: A bachelor's degree in computer science and over five years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Scripting and Automation:

  • Required: Python and Bash scripting for automation

  • Preferred: Experience utilizing GIT, Gitlab, Ansible, SQL Server management, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, and working with APIs and messaging technologies such as AWS Simple Notification Service (SNS), with the ability to integrate them effectively.

  • Project Management and Workflows:

  • Preferred: Experience managing projects, with tools such as Asana, Jira, Monday.com and familiarity with scrum or other agile methodologies

  • Design and Implementation:

  • Preferred: Proficiency in architectural design and implementation

  • Required: Experience with hypervisor and virtualization platforms (VMware, Xen, Microsoft Hyper-V), Docker containers, DNS/DHCP/NTP technologies, Storage Area Networks (SAN) infrastructure and familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and cloud-based systems.

  • Media Content and Broadcasting:

  • Preferred: Experience working with media content and broadcasting technologies a plus

  • Preferred: Familiarity with codecs, containers, and standards used in the broadcast industry is preferred.

  • Operating Systems and Server Configuration:

  • Required: Advanced Linux operating system as well as server hardware configuration and troubleshooting.

  • Monitoring and Logging:

  • Preferred: Experience with monitoring tools configurations (SolarWinds, Pingdom, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana).

  • Networking and Protocols:

  • Required: Intermediate knowledge of networking technologies, including IP addressing, CIDR, subnetting, routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), understanding of broadcast domains, IP Address Management (IPAM), network security, and troubleshooting capabilities.

  • IT Security and Networking:

  • Preferred: Understanding of IT security protocols, processes, and best practices.
