Engineering Project Assistant - Test Engineer Location: Cedar Rapids, IA Job ID: #68962 Pay Range: $37-42 Engineering Project Assistant – Test Engineering (Onsite) The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering team responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international. The organization is looking for a motivated individual to provide exemplary non-technical support as a Sr. Engineering Project Assistant (EPA). As a key member of the engineering support team, the Sr. EPA is a process and tool expert who can coordinate and lead activities. Strong organizational skills are required for tasks including parts ordering, word processing, data entry, and preliminary document preparation for several engineering projects concurrently. Responsibilities: Assisting project engineers and engineering teams with various non-technical tasks Ordering parts and modules from vendors and coordinating the receipt and kitting of the items Submitting and tracking completed kits and associated drawings to the team members who build products Track work requests through Jira or other Project Management tools Supporting the engineering development process using tools such as application lifecycle management (ALM) software suite and Microsoft O365 Assisting in the tracking and coordination of pre-release, release, and revisions of product related documentation following established methods and procedures Managing Peer Reviews by creating them, tracking action item closure, and closing out the Peer Review Using the ALM tool to manage Change Management Generating accurate and professional monthly presentations for tracking project and financial performance Follow and create processes for standard operating procedures Formatting software and hardware documentation Entering data into various database programs Preparing domestic and international shipping memos Effectively communicating across the organization to peers, engineers, and leadership Requires both independent action and team collaboration to accomplish objectives and resolve issues Preferred Qualifications: Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively support multiple engineering projects Attention to detail Resiliency in the face of adversity Ability to build and maintain a strong peer network through strong interpersonal skills Knowledge of the standard Engineering development tools (ALM, SAP, PREP, DOORS, BMW, Subversion) Required Qualifications: Proficiency with Microsoft office is required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Outstanding oral and written communication skills Must be US Citizen Internal/external Benefits provided: 401K, medical, dental, and vision, sick time as applicable to state law Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is proud to provide an equal opportunity workplace and be an affirmative action employer.
