This Value Stream Leader (VSL) position is responsible for managing a portfolio of Display Products, leading an Integrated Program Team (IPT) responsible for the life cycle value stream. As IPT leader, you will be accountable for managing the product life cycle, cost, schedule, performance, and on-time delivery of the programs, including production deliveries, quality, fleet reliability, inventory, and issue resolution.

Additionally, you will manage commercial terms and conditions, aftermarket support, and total cost of ownership. You will oversee product operational performance and be accountable for the full lifecycle of products and services from inception through completion, inclusive of pursuit and order capture, design and development, produce to deliver, service/support, and long-term strategic business plans.  

As Associate Director of Display Products, you will also be an integral part of developing product strategies and actions related to the Strategic Financial Plan and establishing baselines and ensuring performance to our Annual Operating Plan.  

Some travel should be expected and will follow Collins corporate and local/state/national guidelines. 

This is an Onsite role at our Cedar Rapids, IA Collins Avionics location. 

What You Will Do:

  • Manage the lifecycle of a group of Display Products to ensure adherence to program plans, schedules and budgets 

  • Develop product strategies to address market needs and meet business objectives 

  • Develop business cases for investments in new products and technologies

  • Define strategies for establishing and implementing milestones, program plans, schedules, and budgets for complex programs to ensure that organization’s objectives are met 

  • Drive and develop continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality

  • Apply strategic insights and critical thinking to solve complex problems and spearhead solutions that may involve resource allocation, contractual specifications, and complex customer action items. 

  • Oversee presentation of product value-stream strategy, progress and results to ensure goals are achieved 

  • Support the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operational budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization’s interests

  • Communicate the program’s status, risks and opportunities at cadence reviews, and upon request, at all leadership levels of the business both internally and externally

  • Lead a cross-functional IPT, providing accountability for the value stream’s deliverables including on-time delivery and quality, budget and schedule adherence, along with inventory, and overdue delivery reduction

  • Interfaces with internal and external customers for program specifications to ensure successful completion, possibly including managing supplier relationships in coordination with Subcontract Management

  • Contribute to the development of the Strategic Financial Plan and Annual Operating Plan as it relates to your specific portfolio of products

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Business Development, and fellow Value Stream Leaders to develop and leverage product line solutions and capabilities

  • Some travel should be expected and will follow Collins corporate and local/state/national guidelines. 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience

  • Prior experience working in a Value Stream role

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
