CEDAR VALLEY MEDICAL CLINIC Medical Assistant in CEDAR CITY, Utah
Medical Assistant at established Medical Clinic in Cedar City, Utah. Full time. Experienced required. Active CNA license, Medical assistant license or Medical assistant experience preferred. Necessary computer and electronic medical record competency. MUST have a friendly personality and handle high stress situations. Starting salary $13 per hour (varies with experience), benefits to be discussed.
General Job Requirements:
1. Answering telephone calls, scheduling appointments and answering patient questions
2. Rooming patients and taking vital signs and completing EKGs
3. Ability to give injections, venipunctures, and assist with minor surgical procedures
4. Calling patients regarding lab results and medication refills
5. Handling medical and procedure prior authorizations
6. Entering patient information into electronic medical record
7. Coordinating care between medical offices and sending patient referrals
Required Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma/GED
2. Active CNA license, Medical assistant license or Medical assistant/CNA experience
3. Able to cooperate well with patients, staff members, practitioners and insurance agencies
4. Flexible and friendly disposition
5. Maintain clean office space
6. Preform other required or assigned job functions
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Three or more months of medical assistant or CNA experience
2. Medical receptionist and/or willingness to cross train
3. Medical billing experience and/or willing to learn medical billing and coding
Physical Demands:
1. Lifting less than 25 lbs
2. Sitting and standing intermittently
3. Able to work 8-10 hour days with 1 hour lunch break
