This position is for candidates with the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Responsibilities
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation Requirements - Recent and relevant accounting experience
Experience with ERP systems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Foundational knowledge in construction project accounting
Demonstrated knowledge of billing
Subcontractors experience highly desired
Adeptness in Budget monitoring
Code Invoices experience
Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)
Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred
The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Great attention to detail
