A day in the life of an Associate Director Global Procurement - UK ...

We are currently looking for an Associate Director Global Procurement - UK to be based in Ridings Point (Castleford - West Yorkshire) and to provide all round procurement service to the Teva UK organization and to help transform the function into a best-in-class professional procurement organisation in terms of performance, processes, support and reliability.

Main accountabilities will be:

  • Deliver strategic direction for the in country team in line with the Global Transformation Plan

  • Provide effective leadership of all categories, driving ongoing value, continuous improvement and complying with global procurement policies and processes.

  • Be accountable for all procurement savings goals in the country, both in Commercial space, Direct Materials and Manufacturing Goods & Services, ensuring that the best cost of ownership (TCO) is achieved in all areas and locations, aligned with global strategies

  • Manage the relationship with all key business stakeholders in the country with very close relationship with Supply Chain, Finance, Site General Manager, Commercial General Manager, Commercial and Marketing Teams, Engineering, Maintenance, R&D, QC and other relevant areas like Global Procurement Regional and Category Teams.

  • Represent Procurement in local management meetings and will cooperate with regional team in the implementation of regional / global initiatives and projects

  • Support implementation of global Procurement initiatives and projects, policies, representing Global Procurement organization on site and supporting and leading the implementation of key global initiatives on site

  • Ensure Procurement compliance at site level in line with local requirements (HR, EHS, Procurement Policy, Legal compliance, Code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery, etc.)

  • Negotiate payment terms with 3rd party suppliers to align with global payment terms and maximize Cash Flow operations as part of Working Capital initiatives

  • Lead a team of three buyers (direct reports) located in three different locations supporting different business units

  • Regular weekly/biweekly commute to our Teva Runcorn (Cheshire) site will be required


Do you have...?

  • A degree preferably in a scientific or technical discipline.

  • Professional Procurement experience, preferably in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Medical devices, Healthcare of FMCG.

  • Broad Procurement experience in the areas of Manufacturing and Direct Materials Pharma manufacturing. Knowledge of Digital procurement will be positively valued.

  • Professional certification in Procurement (CIPS or equivalent). Preferred, not a must.

  • Strong multi-cultural skills and high energy level.

  • Management skills and ability to develop others.

  • Experience with SAP ERP preferred.
