Kraemer North America, LLC Grading Earthwork Superintendent in Castle Rock, Colorado

Kraemer North America is currently looking for a Grading Earthwork Superintendent to join our Mountain West Region. The Grading Earthwork Superintendent is responsible for coordinating resources (manpower & equipment), managing, and directing the project foremen and crews, and staffing project labor requirements. The Grading Superintendent assists the PM and/or PE with preparing and updating project schedules, work activity planning (WAP), TEAM safety meetings, and coordinating subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient construction of projects. As a Grading Superintendent, you may be responsible for certain scopes of work on a larger project or managing similar scopes of work between multiple smaller projects. This position has direct profit loss responsibility along with the Project Manager for assigned projects. This field-based position will work closely with the entire project team including clients, engineers, estimators/project managers, subcontractors, and owner representatives.

Responsibilities

Ensure crews maintain professional relations with Owner, Engineer, and other members of the team Oversee grading crews to ensure project is constructed according to the approved plans Assist with constructing the short interval schedule and understand/maintain the project schedule Prior to commencing work activities, develop and execute an effective plan in cooperation with the Project Team and determine the means and methods necessary (including individual work activities) to meet project goals Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of equipment under their control, including appropriate applications for the respective equipment Ensure all employees comply with company safety procedures; immediately correct and document any unsafe conditions Recognize and immediately report any requests for extra work Ensure administrative tasks are completed: daily electronic time sheet entries, quantity reports, equipment logs/inspections, progress photos and receipt of materials Schedule testing, inspections, and traffic control as required to maintain workflow Provide leadership and direction to crews while emphasizing safety, quality, and production Attend construction progress meetings and scheduling meetings Train and motivate employees Supervise the work of others and clearly communicate instructions Monitor project progress, and ensure safe and quality products and/or projects are complete Responsible for craft labor hires, layoffs, and terminations Complete weekly equipment reporting Conduct daily and weekly site safety audits Set and achieve daily, weekly, monthly production goals (utilizing Heavy Job system) Coordinate subcontractors; communicate issues and concerns to project management Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment Assist with interviewing, selecting, and training new employees Appraise employees' productivity; recommend promotions or changes in status Assist in maintaining project cost control and efficiency Plan the work; determine techniques, materials, supplies, equipment, and tools to be used Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules Administer and ensure compliance with Kraemer safety protocols and assist with overseeing Quality Programs Coordinate the training of new employees Oversee daily TEAM meetings conducted by foremen Analyze and resolve work problems that may develop Work with the Project Manager and Project Engineer on determining formwork and false work systems and methods Assist Project Engineer with reportin quantities Develop and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly goals to Kraemer crews Mentor and develop project staff Be a steward of Kraemer with respect to the clients and subcontractors and suppliers that Kraemer works for or with Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent Working knowledge of applicable standards, specifications, codes, regulations, and laws Minimum 10 years' experience with highway construction Minimum 5 years' experience as a Grading Foreman Experienced on all types of heavy equipment for dirt and site projects Knowledgeable in the areas of dirt work, including excavation, grade work, surveying, and final excavating work Ability to read and understand plans and specifications, and interpret survey grade stakes Working knowledge of OSHA regulations Understand Alternative Delivery Contracts Experience with Global Positioning System (GPS) Must have a valid driver's license and meet Fleet Policy requirements Ability to use good judgement and be an effective decision maker Benefits
