Join the Maintenance & Reliability Team at our Caseyville Prepared Foods Plant as a Maintenance Intern! This is the ideal opportunity for a current student that has general knowledge in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, refrigeration and/or automation.

Starting pay is \$25.30 an hour.

Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods will not be considered for employment.

Tyson is currently in the process of expanding our operations in Caseyville with an \$181 million dollar investment to add 7 new state of the art production lines to our current 4 production lines. With automated warehousing and robotics at the heart of this expansion the facility will be a Flagship of the Prepared Foods division. The facility currently produces Jimmy Dean and Hillshire branded retail products and the expansion will further develop our capabilities.

With around the clock operations we offer a creative schedule for our Maintenance & Reliability Team that provides our team members with the ability to have not only time off during the traditional work week (Mon - Fri) but allows for a 3-day weekend every other week (Fri, Sat, Sun). Crews work in Teams and alternate days to allow for an ideal work / home-life balance.

Brief Job Summary: Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, and electrical systems by performing the essential job functions. Performs limited facility maintenance tasks as required.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and SQF Quality Management policies and procedures while performing essential job functions.

2. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems with equipment

3. Replace Repair broken or worn out parts on Equipment

4. Modify equipment to meet changing manufacturing requirements

5. Install new equipment

6. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment

7. Performs limited masonry work, repairs plumbing fixtures and woodwork.

8. Repairs, maintains and installs electrical systems and fixtures.

9. Measures, cuts, bonds, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit. 10. Uses hand and power tools.

11. Install new runs of water, steam, and air piping

12. Install new runs of electric to various equipment

13. Maintain the building and grounds

14. Performs other duties as assigned

Education: Actively enrolled in an accredited university or technical school seeking a degree or diploma in a Maintenance specific field such as: Mechanical, Automation, Refrigeration, Industrial Maintenance, Production Maintenance, Electrical and maintaining enrollment

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to do the following:

Work near moving mechanical parts.

Work where the noise level is usually moderate to high.

Required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance of other employees.

Work from a ladder or a man lift at heights greater than 20 feet.

Drive a forklift.

Work Schedule: Traditional shift, some weekend work may be required or a rotating schedule
