Job Overview: The position of Utility Craftsman will have experience performing a variety of tasks including but not limited to a variety of manual labor functions and hydro-testing pipelines and/or pressure vessels to ensure safety standards. Reports on the results of on-site inspections of projects to evaluate progress, compliance with plans, and quality of construction.
Job Functions:
Performs bolt ups and torquing procedures (specs and patterns)
Installation of valves which includes determining sizes and schedules
Prepares for Hydro-testing of pipelines and/or pressure vessels
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, work orders, and welding procedures
Moves work pieces, tools, and supplies manually by hand and/or truck (50 lbs max per person)
Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years welder helper or similar construction experience
Must posses a driver's license
Must posses reliable transportation
Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
Basic math and measurement skills (E.g., addition, subtraction, diameters).
Knowledge of the following: Flanges, gaskets, pipe threading, and some understanding of hot work.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rugged terrain and construction sites.
