Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
The company is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Controls Engineer in their Raleigh, NC facility. In this exciting role within our Process & Manufacturing Controls team, you will be designing, programming, and servicing automated controls systems for a variety of industrial clients.
Responsibilities
Design and program a variety of industrial process control systems that integrate new and existing hardware and software.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair customers’ control systems as required.
Program PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Servos, and VFDs.
Understand UL 508A control panel construction and design requirements.
Support sales by providing estimates for controls hardware costs and labor hours for potential projects.
Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E standards.
Essential Skills
Automation and controls engineering.
Proficiency with Allen Bradley PLC, RSLogix, and Rockwell.
Experience in PLC programming, FactoryTalk, HMIs, and troubleshooting.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in automation, HMI, electrical, programming, PLC programming, and process controls.
Self-starting and flexible approach to work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent design and programming experience.
Familiarity with Google Suite, including Sheets, Docs, Gmail, and Drive.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with power system design.
Experience in troubleshooting, designing, and configuring machine-level Ethernet networks and managed switches.
Understanding of machine safety and safety circuit design categories.
Work Environment
Mainly supporting the company's largest client, with growing opportunities in the Raleigh area. The role involves upgrades to existing systems, new packaging lines, and conveyor systems, as well as general plant support. Duties will be performed in a hybrid model or on job sites, with deployment to North Carolina job sites up to 100% of the time. Travel may be required up to 20%. The ability to stand or sit for extended periods is necessary. The role is highly flexible, allowing for late arrivals or early departures as needed, but it is expected that the engineer will be in the office when not at client sites.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
• “55 after 45” bonus for Controls Engineers (bonus of $55/hour for each hour worked > 45 hours per week)• $82.50 per hour billable after 40 hour for any service occurs after normal working hours which is 7am -5pm• 401(k) company match (100% company match first 3% of employee contributions and 50% match on next 2%, for a total of 4% match to 5% employee contribution; must meet eligibility requirements to participate• A company provided data phone• Profit Sharing, which has been 10% of salary + bonus for the last 4 years; must meet eligibility requirements to participate
