GE Vernova Sourcing Specialist - Buying/Procurement in Carrara, Italy

Job Description Summary

Within the L5 Component Repair Insourcing Program, the Sourcing Specialist – Buying/Procurement will be responsible to coordinate procurement (indirect buy of Equipment, Tools, Services and direct buy of SPADs), for Aero Alliance Avenza L5 Service Shop (Italy).

The Sourcing Specialist will report ad-interim to the Project Director, until an Avenza L5 Service Shop Operations Organization will be defined. In this initial interim period, she/he will work also as Material Management specialist, being the reference person for Material transactions, logistic and ERP for the

whole Insourcing project.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

In this role you will coordinate procurement (direct material and indirect buy), implementing sourcing policy, liaising between suppliers and entities on specifications and budgets. This role requires comprehensive expertise in procurement methodologies and great teamwork skills.

As a Buying/Procurement, you will be responsible for:

  • Placing and following up on PO's.

  • Applying Sourcing Policy with 100% compliance.

  • Managing relationships with suppliers for PO execution, scheduling changes and updating ERP.

  • Negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies. Achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction.

  • Advising Functional managers regarding projects, processes and procedures in own field.

  • Handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about design and coordination services rendered.

  • In the interim period: act as integration leader for the L5 Component Repair Project for everything related to material transactions, allowing a smooth New Technology Introduction maximizing synergies and collaborations with L4 Service Shop Gate 2 teams, Global Gate 2 team, Strategic Sourcing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

  • Proven experience in Procurement and Sourcing, with deep knowledge of Oracle ERP.

  • Proven experience in the aviation or oil and gas industry, within GE / BH repair business

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Ability to lead initiatives and have the ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.

  • Attitude to work with enthusiasm, passion and with the desire to change the ‘’status quo’’.

  • Fluency in English and Italian, in writing and speaking.

  • Availability to travel for business purposes world-wide
