General Summary:
The Senior Director of Campus Engagement, under general direction, provides visionary leadership and administrative oversight to a comprehensive portfolio that includes the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership and the Jack B. Kelley (JBK) Student Center. This role involves overseeing the support of student organizations, the Campus Activities Board, fraternity and sorority life, and the JBK Student Center team to ensure high-impact and student-centered programs and services that enhances campus life, builds community, and supports student success. The Senior Director of Campus Engagement oversees departmental finances, assesses student learning outcomes, and ensures effective collaboration with campus partners.
The minimum salary for this position is $5,250.00 per month.
Responsibilities:
Provides day-to-day oversight to the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership.
Develop and implement a comprehensive student engagement strategy aligned with the institution’s mission and goals, identifying key areas for improvement and prioritizing initiatives to enhance the student experience.
Lead the planning and execution of major campus events, including the homecoming parade, student recognition ceremonies, and other significant traditions.
All with the intention of strengthening campus community connections and promoting student involvement and learning.
Supervises and mentors the Assistant Director of Student Involvement, Campus Activities Coordinator, and Spirit Teams Head Coach, providing guidance and support to ensure effective program management, professional growth, and continued development of their respective areas.
Promotes student engagement and a sense of belonging within student organizations by offering guidance, empowering leadership, and creating opportunities for meaningful involvement, while ensuring adherence to university policies and the student handbook in collaboration with the Office of Community Standards.
Conduct assessments and evaluations of student programs and activities to measure their effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance student learning outcomes and engagement.
Provides direct supervision and strategic oversight of the University Spirit Program, ensuring the university’s spirit teams (e.g., game day, pom squad, and mascot teams) reflect institutional values, promote school pride, and operate in alignment with institutional values and policies.
Provides day-to-day oversight to the Jack B. Kelley Student Center
Lead the development, daily operations, and long-term vision of the JBK Student Center as a vibrant center of campus life.
Directs the Event and Production Services teams to support strategic initiatives and fosters partnerships with student groups, campus departments, and community members.
Supervises and mentors the Assistant Director of the Student Center and the Event and Production Services team to provide guidance and support in their roles.
Ensuring effective management, growth, and support of their programs.
Provides leadership and oversight for building operations, scheduling systems, maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and overall facility management.
Ensures that all state and federal laws as well as university policies and procedures are followed.
Manage Departmental Finances: Develop and oversees the budget for departments, ensuring proper allocation of resources and financial management to support the various student programs, services, and initiatives.
Serves as a member of the Campus Community and Engagement leadership team to collaborate and develop innovative programs to support student success, wellbeing, and retention. Works to develop relationships and partnerships with students, staff, faculty, colleges, and student organizations to fulfill the campus engagement objectives.
Works with the campus risk management team to ensure student organizations and campus events are planned and executed with minimal risk.
Participates in division meetings and on university committees as needed
This position must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed.

Necessary Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
Seven (7) years of Student Affairs experience in positions of increasing responsibility.
Four (4) of these years need to be in campus engagement programs, student organizations, campus activities, or in a related field.
Demonstrated experience in staff and student leadership development, strategic planning, and program assessments.
Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and external stakeholders effectively.
Demonstrated supervisory experience.
Demonstrated experience managing budgets, allocate resources, and oversee financial planning.
Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with marketing and promotional efforts related to student engagement.
Outstanding organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple demanding projects.
Must be comfortable in and familiar with a team-center, cross-trained, collaborative environment.
Ability to work under pressure.
Professional demeanor.
Some evening and weekend work required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, management, marketing, or related field
Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing innovative student programs that align with emerging trends to meet student needs.
Experience working in the facility management and event management.
Demonstrated experience working with fraternity and sorority life contributing to community building and student engagement efforts/initiatives.
Large Crowd Management Certified
Knowledge and understanding of student development theory and student personnel administration.
Experience executing broad engagement, socialization, and student development through the delivery of a dynamic calendar of on and off-campus events.
Experience leading the development and coordination of training programs for student organizations, including risk management, hazing compliance, and organizational best practices.
Understanding of facility planning and evaluation to support student success.
Experience leading spirit organizations to support the recruitment and retention goals of the program.
