Job Description:
Role Summary/Purpose:
The SVP, Technology Strategy, M&A, and Ventures Leader will be responsible for partnering with the Business Strategy & Development organization in defining the corporate strategy, driving strategic planning, and evaluating and executing on M&A and venture opportunities. This role is responsible for shaping the company's technology vision and growth strategy in support of the overall company strategy. This role also is responsible for coordinating the technology engagement on all corporate acquisition and investment opportunities, as well as identifying opportunities that align with the technology strategy. The individual in this role will need to be deeply familiar with roadmaps and priorities across the Technology & Operations organization, understand the connections between technology strategy and business strategy, and have a strong blend of strategic thinking and execution experience.

Essential Responsibilities:
Partner with the Strategy, M&A and Ventures organization to align technology strategy and support the execution of technology deliverables
Lead technology assessments for potential M&A opportunities, evaluating alignment with technology and product strategy, assessing infrastructure, scalability, security, and integration feasibility
Coordinate overall technology execution of M&A integrations with Synchrony
Provide strategic guidance on technology risks, synergies, and post-merger integration strategies
Partner with Ventures team to evaluate and invest in emerging technology startups that align with strategic priorities, develop technology vision on venture priorities, and where applicable drive approach to commercialization of venture investments
Serve as technology leader for the Strategic Investment planning process, partnering with the strategy team and FP&A leader to optimize the process and ensuring alignment across the technology & operations organization
Partner with the Office of Agile, Engineering and CIO organizations to lead efforts around agile efficiency
Technology leader responsible for engaging with the Strategy team in the development of all Board & ELT strategy materials
Lead efforts to annually assess and update the Technology strategy, and preparation of all materials for the Board Technology Committee
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 15+ years of work experience, ideally in financial services OR, in lieu of degree, a high school diploma and 20+ years of relevant work experience
Minimum of 8 years strategy consulting experience
Minimum of 3 years of M&A and/or strategic planning experience
Strong operational, get-it-done attitude with a startup mentality
Results driven, customer-centric, strategic, conceptual, and innovative thinker
Demonstrated experiencing resolving issues and bringing solutions to bear within a fast-paced business environment
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, proven ability to connect with others, building strong partnerships and driving enthusiasm internally and externally
Expertise to clearly define complex issues despite incomplete or ambiguous information
Ability to drive multiple concurrent priorities to completion without significant guidance
Demonstrated a process mindset to drive improvement
Desired Characteristics:
Experience in a leadership capacity within Technology
Ability to demonstrate innovation and creative approaches to business priorities
Prior consumer finance, payments, or fintech experience
Demonstrated strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
Grade/Level: 15
The salary range for this position is 200,000.00 - 330,000.00 USD Annual. This position is also eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan target of 25% of salary and an Annual Equity target of 25% of salary.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
