Job Description

The overall purpose of the Payroll Analyst is to process payroll and perform all payroll-related duties. This role is essential in

ensuring timely and accurate payroll operations, compliance with tax regulations, and effective management of employee compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare part-time associates' timesheets and hourly time records, and assemble and process bi-weekly payroll and associated reports and spreadsheets.

  • Transfer and mail bi-weekly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual payroll tax payments, 401K, profit sharing, child support, garnishments, and other associate withholdings.

  • Update wage information in the database and Visual job costing.

  • Set up scanning badges, clock numbers, and related information for new hires and temporary employees.

  • Report new associates to the State of Ohio.

  • Compute quarterly commissions for sales associates and monthly commissions for outside representatives.

  • Prepare month-end Payroll Summary report.

  • Prepare and update 941 recap bi-weekly.

  • Process absentee slips in the database and print required bi-weekly reports.

  • Prepare Vacation Attendance Plan (VAP) information and reports per schedule.

  • Enter attendance transactions in SAGE.

  • Prepare schedules and type additional W-2s, make necessary copies.

  • Prepare year-end associate benefit statements.

  • Prepare all necessary reports for audit review and outside tax agencies.

  • Prepare salary/wage rate review information to be included in associate annual evaluations.

  • Answer all phone and written employment verifications, wage garnishments, and support inquiries.

  • Prepare monthly sales tax returns.

  • Prepare Product Line labor rates annually for Senior Manufacturing Engineer.

  • Maintain associates' payroll files.

  • Set up payroll binders for the new year.

  • Box files for storage.

  • Maintain Payroll records room.

  • Perform any other related accounting duties.

  • Initiate paperwork for evaluations to supervisors.

  • Preparation of annual benefit statement data.

  • Prepare monthly premium reports and health care cost spreadsheet.

  • Prepare 1095-B and 1095-C forms.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1-2 years of payroll experience.

  • Experience with ADP.

  • Basic knowledge of Excel.

  • Familiarity with Sage and ERP systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Sage ERP is preferred but not required.

  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business.

Work Environment

The Payroll Analyst will work in an office setting, collaborating closely with the accounting manager and other team members.

Professionalism and the ability to get along with others are essential for success in this role.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
