ANSYS, Inc. R&D Engineer II in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania
The R&D Engineer II will contribute to the development and support of our mechanical implicit solver. Focus on core acoustics and acoustic-structure interaction features, including acoustic finite elements, nonlinear algorithms in frequency domain and dynamic simulation procedures. Collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives. Perform moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems. Perform moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions. Understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. Works under the general supervision of a development manager.
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field of study. Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a commercial simulation software development and support role. Work experience or academic coursework must have included: Acoustics analysis, finite element methods, computational dynamics, C++, numerical analysis, nonlinear solution algorithms, coupled field analysis, object-oriented design with HPC, scripting languages, data structures and algorithms; Experience with software design and development methodologies; and experience with large-scale software development environments.
