Acara Solutions is looking for an Electrical Engineer for our Client located in Canonsburg, PA As an electrical engineer, you'll be a member of or lead a cross-functional team supporting the Torpedos program. Proficient in using electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design. Habitually ahead of technology trends, with a background in testing, troubleshooting, and reading circuit card schematics. Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design. Collaborative team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others. Analyze and design analog and digital electronic circuits including signal conditioning, power, analog-to-digital conversion, and communication. Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware. Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems including test software applications. Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions. Design, analyze, and test underwater acoustic systems. Design and build prototype cable assemblies. Perform solder rework of prototype circuit card assemblies. Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer. Generate design and interface documentation.

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics. Minimum of 5 years experience in analog and digital circuit design including signal integrity principles. Minimum of 5 years experience in engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test phases Minimum of 5 years experience in Research and Development including concept, design, modeling, prototyping, and testing.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications: Master's Degree Working knowledge of common communication interfaces such as Ethernet, RS-485, USB, CAN bus, LVDS, and protocols such as TCP and UDP Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including the creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry (OrCAD Capture experience), and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment. Strong documentation and communication skills. Experience with MATLAB programming.
