L3Harris Manager, Procurement in Canoga Park, California

Overview

We have an immediate need for a Procurement Manager to lead a buying team in Huntsville, AL. Among other duties, the selected candidate will p rovide oversight and direction to buying staff in the pursuit of P.O. Placement, hardware receipt, non-conformance resolution, payment methodology and mentoring and teaching in the areas of source selection, hardware processing, price/cost analysis, negotiation techniques and adequate case file documentation.

Essential functions

50% - Provide oversight and direction to buying staff in the pursuit of P.O. Placement, hardware receipt, non-conformance resolution, payment methodology and mentoring and teaching in the areas of source selection, hardware processing, price/cost analysis, negotiation techniques and adequate case file documentation

15% - Assist and provide direction to internal customers outside the organization on the appropriate avenues to take relative to problem resolution tied to procurement issues, methodology for ordering techniques, sourcing strategies, approaches to dealing with suppliers to obtain what you need when you need it, etc.

10% - Lead/participate in e3 / Lean functional initiatives

10% - Perform administrative managerial duties – staff meetings, performance reviews, performance tracking, mentoring/coaching, budget establishment and management

10% - Hardware status activities

5% - Lead supplier risk mitigation efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 9+ years of progressive procurement experience

  • Strong skills with Excel

  • Ability to manage a team with multiple assignments and priorities

  • Ability to use MS Office products to include Outlook, Word and Powerpoint

    Desired Qualifications

  • Experience leading a team through complex organizational, system and process related initiatives

  • Customer savvy, with the ability to address and drive proactive action when required

  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external professionals at all levels
