Actalent Lab Technician in Camden, New Jersey

Lab Technician – Interviews Happening This Week

Location: Camden, NJ

Compensation: $35.00 to 38.00 an hour

Duration: 9 months contract to hire

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Lab Technician to join our small but dynamic laboratory team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong chemistry background and hands-on experience in oil testing and quality control. You’ll be working in a well-established company that has been a trusted partner to major utility companies like PSE&G since 1957.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized testing on used motor oil, including:

  • Pensky-Martens Closed Cup Flash Point

  • BS&W by Centrifuge

  • pH testing

  • PCB testing using Gas Chromatography (GC)

  • Total Halogens using Dexsil Test Kit

  • Follow all lab safety protocols and SOPs

  • Accurately document and report test results

  • Maintain lab equipment and cleanliness

  • Collaborate with team members and report to Lab Supervisors (Sandip/Tom)

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field

  • 3+ years of laboratory testing experience, specifically with PCBs using GC

  • 2+ years of experience with BS&W, Flash Point, and Total Halogens testing using Dexsil Test Kit

  • Proficiency with pH meters and general laboratory procedures

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with wet chemistry techniques

  • Background in oil testing and quality control

  • Familiarity with writing or following SOPs

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
