Holtec International CNC Machine Operator in Camden, New Jersey

Position: CNC Machine Operator

Location: Camden, NJ; Advanced Manufacturing Division  

Holtec International seeks qualified applicants for the position of CNC Machine Operator at its manufacturing and production facilities in Camden, NJ. The CNC Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC Mills and Lathes to ensure high-quality, precision machining of components. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work under a structured quality management system.

The CNC Machine Operator will work closely with production teams, engineers, and quality control specialists to ensure that all parts meet the required specifications and tolerances.

Minimum required qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2-Year Technical Degree or completion of a relevant apprenticeship program required. Equivalent experience and on-the-job training may be considered in lieu of formal apprenticeship. 3-5 years of professional CNC machining experience required; 5+ years preferred. Experience with CNC machinery and programming is required.

Additional desirable qualifications include experience with Fanuc and Siemens 840D controls preferred. Understanding of different metal types and machining characteristics. Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines and tools.

Specific Areas of Responsibility: Set up CNC Mill & Lathe machines using provided programs, fixtures, and tool lists. Adjust machine settings to ensure optimal performance and product quality.

Monitor feed and speed of machines throughout the machining process. Perform in-process inspections to verify that parts meet specifications and tolerances. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges for inspection. Maintain documentation of inspections and report any deviations or defects. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions. Set and manage tools, assessing tool life and wear.

Utilize specialized or advanced variation tools as required. Apply basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles. Review and understand daily job assignments. Load raw materials into machines and verify proper alignment. Conduct machine warm-ups and complete all safety checks before operation. Continuously monitor machine operations, making real-time adjustments as needed. Maintain accurate records of production output, scrap, and rework data. Ensure tools and equipment are clean, calibrated, and stored properly at the end of each shift. Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on process improvements. Report any mechanical issues or potential failures to the supervisor immediately. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
