About This Role:

Forrester’s certification team designs and delivers outstanding online learning programs, both as standalone course experiences and as an integrated feature of our subscription research services. Successful online learning programs require dynamic and interactive content that brings the course experience to life and engages learners from diverse backgrounds.

Reporting to the product manager within Forrester’s certification organization, the Course Development Specialist uses their knowledge of online learning strategies and instructional content development to create organized, relevant, and engaging learning materials that contribute to the development of certification courses.

This individual builds and maintains online courses from design blueprints provided by instructional designers and recommends tactile learning options to support the effective hands-on application of knowledge and skills. The Course Development Specialist also reviews and analyzes customer feedback and collaborates across the team to help bring the voice of the customer into the continual evolution of our online learning experience.

Job Description:

  • Convert instructional blueprints and design briefs into modern, accessible learning paths with a blend of engagements, tools, and templates.

  • Create exercise and project templates, exam question sets, and learner self-assessments based on instructional design briefs.

  • Collaborate closely with the instructional designer and subject matter experts SME(s) to align on course needs.

  • Lead the project management of content development assets to help keep course launch on track toward established deadlines.

  • Support customer feedback strategy through data collection, analysis, and participation in interviews.

  • As needed, conduct course QA testing to ensure deliverables meet accuracy, consistency, and quality standards.

  • As needed, troubleshoot course content and experience issues.

Job Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree in a related field.

  • At least three years of experience in designing, developing, and/or testing content for online learning environments.

  • Familiarity with multiple learning platforms, visual design principles, and learning strategies.

  • Experience in building and testing learning content using various tools, such as Adobe Illustrator, Articulate, whiteboarding tools, etc.

  • Experience in interacting with subject matter experts (SMEs) and learners/customers in a supportive and positive manner.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Desire to work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
