City of Camas Entry Level and Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic in Camas, Washington

The City of Camas, Washington is testing for positions with the Camas-Washougal Fire Department. These positions are represented by International Association of Firefighters, Local #2444.

 

**Entry Level Firefighter/Paramedic

[Paramedic Applicants]{.underline}* [MUST attach copies of the following valid certifications to their application]{.underline}: NREMT-P or Washington State Certified Paramedic*; ACLS [or]{.underline} eACLS; PALS.

* Paramedic Candidates who do not possess a current WA State paramedic certification are required by the State of Washington to have graduated from a CAAHEP accredited paramedic course to receive reciprocity. Applicants must have [one year of firefighting or emergency medical response experience]{.underline} and a valid driver's license with good driving history. Finalists will undergo an extensive background check, physical examination, psychological screening and drug screen prior to final hire. Applicants must be 21 years of age at time of hiring.

TESTING SCHEDULE:

  • [Thursday and Friday, May 26 & 27]{.underline} -- 8am -- OPTIONAL practice sessions for physical agility testing at Camas Fire Station 42 (4321 NW Parker Street, Camas)
  • [Saturday, June 1st]{.underline} -- 8am -- REQUIRED written and physical agility testing specific to duties. Candidates must bring $20 testing fee to the test on this date
  • [Monday June 3rd & Tuesday June 4th]{.underline} -- Times TBD -- Oral Board Interviews

*Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic *

The following criteria must be met, [without exception,]{.underline} to apply for a lateral position. If any of the following criteria are not met, you will not be considered for the lateral positions, but you should apply under the posting for Entry Level Firefighter/Paramedic on our website.

  1. Applicants must have worked as a paid firefighter/paramedic for a minimum of 6,000 hours and successfully completed a probationary period.
  2. Applicants must possess the following certificates: IFSAC Firefighter 1 and 2, IFSAC Hazmat Awareness and Hazmat Operations (or equivalent).
  3. All applicants must possess valid driver's license.
  4. Applicants must possess the following valid certificates: NREMT-P [or]{.underline} Washington State Paramedic Certification*, ACLS [or]{.underline} eACLS; PALS. *
