Western Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre is welcoming for a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join our team. This position provides an opportunity to work with board-certified specialists and the ability to partake in cutting-edge veterinary medicine. Western is expanding the emergency service to meet the needs of the local veterinary community. Our goal is to provide a long-term career as an emergency veterinarian, with a sustainable shift-rotation schedule and stimulating yet manageable caseload.
Western strives to provide our team with a respectful, educational, productive, fun and collaborative work environment where the primary goal is to provide world-class veterinary services and patient care. We offer a dynamic team environment, encompassing specialty and emergency services. The specialist and emergency services are highly integrated, with our team of specialists providing on-call support for emergency procedures and complicated cases. Candidates should have previous emergency experience and completion of an internship program is an asset. We pride ourselves in exceptional client service and communication skills. Our 24-hour emergency department is led by our team of four Criticalists and Critical Care Residents. We are a VECCS Level II certified facility. A valid DVM from an accredited university

Schedule: The emergency team works a rotational schedule including overnights and weekends. This allows for even distribution of the workload and an overall improved hospital experience. Our specialists also participate in providing after-hours support to our emergency team.
