Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for planning, scheduling, and negotiating transactions connected with the procurement of materials, supplies, tools, and services. Follows up with vendors as needed. Responsible to purchase all raw materials, facilitating returns, and reconciling inventories.

Plans, schedules, and handles transactions connected with the procurement of materials, supplies, tools, and servicers. Obtains production schedules, determines order quantities and oversees inventory control system for tick, raw materials, and other materials to support production operations.

Follows up on orders as needed, resolves vendor problems, and handles related correspondence. Advises Supply Chain Manager of any vendor or purchasing problems or concerns

Maintains perpetual records on materials and performs physical spot checks and counts on a weekly basis. Assists with audits and leads physical inventories. Investigates and corrects inventory issues including but not limited to negative inventories, ABC Cycle counting, BOM corrections, safety stock and bin locations. Provides reports and 5Why Analysis for the various SQDC boards in the facility.

Ensures the quality and quantity of incoming materials. Manages returns of defective materials. Provides training and support to material handling staff, regarding material movement and home locations.

Fosters positive working relationships. Responds proactively to performance concerns, discipline, employee complaints and other employee relations matters

Maintains and updates various computerized and hard copy files and records including vendor, price, product and material files, receiving reports, and open/completed purchase order records. Reconciles Accounts Payable invoices with receiving reports.

Coordinates work with Plant management, Sales, Accounts Payable, Shipping, the Product Analyst, and other internal personnel as needed

Functional/Technical Competencies

Solicits bids, analyzes quotes, selects and recommends suppliers who can provide items and services for the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, specifications and other factors on an as needed basis. Negotiates, as directed by the Operations manager, with vendors on substitutions, replacements, cost freight, and handling charges (Doesnotinclude Corporate Sourcing)

Maintains knowledge of current trends in the field and attends appropriate training programs to remain current on manufacturing and health and safety issues, to ensure, with the Safety Champion, that appropriate PPE is purchased.

Produce high quality work under urgent deadlines

Experience/Education

Required:1-3 years of experience in a Purchasing environment

Desired: College Diploma/Advances Diploma (Business preferred) or equivalent

Job Factors/Work Environments

60% work in the Office and 40% on work on the Plant floor.

Work is primarily sedentary in nature. Some walking of the Plant floor and lifting required.
