JOB SUMMARY:The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will be responsible for short-term assignments and interfacing with mechanical and electrical engineering. This position will collaborate with various departments to ensure the designs meet customer specifications, quality and safety standards and can be produced efficiently and cost effectively. The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will be Engineering’s quick, direct response to any production issues needing engineering support. Manufacturing Engineer Intern will use MS Office, Adobe, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, part nesting software, and other tools.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and Quality to ensure designs meet all technical requirements and can be made efficiently and cost-effectively
Correct the design and/or adjust the production capabilities so they are consistent
Conduct producibility analyses and include results in project plans
Design and analyze tools and fixtures needed in Production
Ensure designs and drawings are consistent with production capabilities and flow
Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts
Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems
Implements 6-Sigma and lean principles and technologies
Update and manage Bills of Material (BoMs)
Design, manage, and conduct factory tests alongside other departments
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and codes during production
Investigate and troubleshoot customer concerns efficiently and professionally
Identify new technologies and techniques to improve production
Analyze current and potential problems that could arise during the manufacturing process and recommend solutions
Use customer feedback and service data to find and implement improvements
Identify issues, develop possible solutions, prepare accurate documentation, and facilitate resolution of issues identified during the build process
Integrate new processes, equipment, and vendors into JTS production
Document processes
Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned according to course work completed and experience
REQUIREMENTS:
Actively pursuing a BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or other relevant engineering degree
Experience with metal forming, welding, electrical power equipment installation and wiring, systems integration and testing, and construction materials, techniques, and procedures a plus
Have reliable attendance, be respectful and responsible at work
Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of automation systems and ability to commission and maintain them
Knowledge of jobsite safety and ability to always ensure a safe workplace
Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards
Strong understanding of manufacturing and Quality principles and best practices
Understand the manufacturing and cost implications of designs and processes
Proficient with MS Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, nesting software and other tools
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
