This Position is for a Manufacturing Quality Technician with a company located in Byhalia.

 

Job Summary: TK Elevator is currently seeking a Manufacturing Quality Technician in Byhalia, MS. This role is responsible for daily collaboration with the cross functional teams (SQDC) to address quality issues by collecting and analyzing data, performing tests, inspections, audits and root cause analysis.

 

Responsibilities and Duties: Performs all essential job functions of a Technician I as needed. Sets up an AQL plan/Sampling plan. Sets up and maintains inspection procedures and equipment. Measures various parts using a variety of tools including micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, voltmeter, hardness tester, tensile tester and other assorted hand tools. Extracts data from various systems for business reporting purposes. Files and maintains records of compliance to Engineering specifications. Sets up and conducts various tests and experiments as assigned and records details of results using experiment description and layout document per guidelines. Calibrates and repairs various measuring devices as required including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, hardness testers, etc. Acts as mentor to level one technicians.

Participates in the Measurement System Analysis. Supports the corrective action process for the assigned production areas.

Acts as the subject matter expert relating to quality for the assigned production areas. Follows 6S principles while performing essential job functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Qualifications: High School Diploma and/or Technical School Diploma required. CQT Certification required.

Associate's Degree in Engineering or Quality Control a plus. Two to five years' experience in machine operation within a manufacturing department required. Two to five years' experience in the field of quality preferred. General mechanical and/or electrical aptitude required. General understanding of the metal working process preferred. General print reading ability required. Experience in the use of basic measuring instruments required. General experience with inspection equipment, statistical process control and working knowledge of computer capabilities preferred. Possess a general understanding of lean material systems or lean production systems preferred. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the facility and across the organization. Possess good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to understand complex written and/or verbal instructions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) required.
