SUMMARY:
Removes, repairs, inspects, installs, and modifies aircraft fuel systems including integral fuel tanks, bladder cells, and external tanks. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on F-16 aircraft fuel systems supporting aircraft inducted into the Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs aircraft fuel systems removal, repair, installation, and operational checkouts according to maintenance procedures and policies
Performs fuel systems maintenance on F-16 aircraft fuel tanks, cells, and wings
Troubleshoot, test, and repair, if necessary, F-16 fuel systems
Removes access panels, depuddles, purges, repairs, tests, cleans, and inspects fuel tanks and cells as required by F-16 Technical manual or Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs)
Maintains associated fuel system hardware and equipment.
Performs entry and maintenance in confined spaces
Prepares aircraft fuel system surfaces, and applies sealants, adhesives, and associated chemicals
Cleans fuel cells and tanks, and inspects for foreign objects, corrosion, cell deterioration, and fungus.
Stores, handles, uses, and disposes of hazardous material and waste.
Use various testers required to test fuel system reliability and functionality
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Desired: Completed Technical or Military School Training
4 Years related experience on USAF fighter aircraft.
Must have experience with working from blueprint drawings, diagram, specifications, service manuals, sketches, templates, and other incomplete data.
PREFERRED
F-16 or related fighter aircraft fuel system USAF 7 – Level
Current FAA issued Mechanic certificate with Airframe
Ability to work in an austere environment and to perform work in a hangar or aviation field environment
WORK CONDITIONS:
Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed in a hangar, office setting, or aviation field environment.
COVID vaccination may be required as part of your employment in the future.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs, including up and down stairs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Must be able to obtain a medical clearance required for the location.
