Job Title: Training & Development Lead

Location: Burton Factory

JOB PURPOSE

As a training & development lead you will be responsible for driving the training and skills agenda of the plant and implementing learning solutions that focus on improving team members abilities. This role will be expected to have strong interpersonal skills to work cross functionally to implement training initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of training lead is a busy and varied one. Your main role will be to:

  • Lead the skills development agenda for factory and own, drive and improve the process of training and upskilling employees.

  • Lead on the design & implementation a new training & skills matrix platform.

  • Partner with the production supervisors to refine and improve the training program.

  • Track training needs and provide proactive training prompts for training needs.

  • Review, update and maintain the plant skills matrix and training records.

  • Create and maintain meaningful and visible training reports and KPI’s as required.

  • Coordinate training courses – booking, materials, invites, evaluation and the recording of these courses.

  • Act as a point of contact for vendors and participants.

  • Other duties as required.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to take the initiative, multi-task and have strong interpersonal skills as they liaise with all departments on site.

  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

  • Ability to prioritise workload and work on own initiative.

  • Self motivated with a can do attitude.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft packages (especially word and excel).

  • Previous experience in training systems within a manufacturing environment or similar role.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs.  These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
