POSITION:                          Middle School Football Coach   LOCATION:                         Middle School   DESCRIPTION OF THE DISTRICT:  The Bentley Community School District is a small-size school district east of Flint in Genesee County with approximately 150  6^th^ through 8^th^ grade students in the middle school. Bentley Bulldogs work hard in service of our youth and believe that relationships are at the heart of what we do. *RESPONSIBILITIES:          *

  • Motivate, guide and mentor student-athletes
  • Maintain an open line of communication with parents and student-athletes
  • Model and expect good sportsmanship behavior towards players, official's, colleagues, parents and spectators
  • Instruct players in the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport
  • Determine game strategy
  • Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury
  • Organize and directs practice
  • Follow policies and procedures set forth by MHSAA, school district, athletic director and head coach
  • Maintain current inventory of equipment
  • Distribute equipment, supplies and uniforms to students
  • Submit a list of award winners to the athletic director at the end of the season
  • Participate in special activities ex: parent's night, banquets, pep assemblies
  • Maintain and distributes up to date rosters, eligibility information, emergency data and other related records

                                               QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous coaching experience

  • Proven ability to work cooperatively with student-athletes
  • Proven ability to act in a professional manner in adverse situations
  • Advanced knowledge of the sport and its techniques
  • Willingness to be involved in all aspects of building a successful program
