BCAA Contract Evolve E-Bike Team Lead - Vancouver Island Region in Burnaby, British Columbia

BCAA is hiring a Temporary Full-Time Team Lead, for our Evolve Bike Share Services on Vancouver Island!

This temporary position spans from April 2024 to December 2024, with potential extension into 2025.

Join us as the Team Lead for Fleet Support Services, where you'll spearhead the Evolve Support Team in ensuring our devices across Vancouver Island are clean and have swapped batteries, guaranteeing top-tier experiences for Evolve Ebike Share Members. You'll also provide crucial support and direction to local maintenance contractors to maintain optimal fleet availability and utilization.

BCAA operates the Evolve E-Bike and E-Scooter Share, an extension of Evo Car Share, with hundreds of Evolve E-Bikes deployed across Whistler, Burnaby (SFU), New Westminster, and Vancouver. As a pivotal member of our team, you'll be instrumental in advancing sustainable transportation solutions in our communities.

In this dynamic role, you'll be on the move, with 90% travel across Vancouver Island, covering key areas such as Nanaimo, Comox Valley Regional District, and Victoria. Reporting to the Senior Associate Manager of Operations, this temporary position spans from April 2024 to December 2024, with potential extension into 2025. What You'll Do:

  • Foster an engaging work environment through motivation, trust, and integrity.

  • Collaborate with Evolve Team members and stakeholders to achieve business objectives.

  • Champion change management initiatives within the Evolve Team.

  • Assist in training, onboarding, and developing team members.

  • Promote a culture of workplace safety and security.

  • Execute responsibilities and decisions with members in mind.

  • Ensure team members are updated on safety initiatives and provide necessary equipment.

  • Conduct audits of safety practices for local maintenance contractors.

  • Maintain Worksafe compliance at the Fleet Operations Centre.

  • Collaborate with local maintenance contractors to schedule Support Services team members.

  • Review daily and weekly reports, taking appropriate action if activity falls behind.

  • Compile monthly summary reports of Support Services KPIs and make recommendations.

  • Assist in recruitment and training of new Fleet Support Services team members.

  • Identify operational efficiencies and make recommendations to Senior Associate Manager Operations.

  • Regularly review the back office to monitor out-of-service fleets and prioritize actions with Evolve Coordinators.

  • Assist with infield activities such as device relocation, battery swapping, and cleaning.

  • Review and track contractors' productivity to ensure daily targets are met.

  • Report on team relocation activities to ensure devices are moved from clustered areas.

  • Provide training on cleanliness and detailing standards to new maintenance contractors.

  • Distribute and install insurance documents, decals, parking permits, or marketing material as needed.

  • Inspect devices as required and report on their cleanliness, fuel level, and settings to assess the quality of work by team members.

  • Organize work by reviewing daily requirements and gathering necessary supplies.

  • Maintain a safe environment by following standards and procedures and complying with traffic and driving regulations.

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading service publications.

What You Bring:

  • Two years leadership or supervisory experience.

  • Diploma or certificate in a relavant field or minimum 2 years related experience in operations

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS/Office Suite

  • Basic CRM tool knowledge

  • A valid BC Driver’s License.

The hourly range for this position is $32.10 to $40.12  and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%.
