The Brook Hill School Boarding Parent Job Description
Position: Boarding Parent for a Boys Boarding House - this person needs to be male (spouse and family okay, as long as primary Boarding Parent hired for this role is male)
Grades: 8th-12th
Classification: Full-time, exempt

Qualifications:
Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in education
Knowledge of and experience with relevant technology
Solid biblical and theological foundation and understanding
Must be 25 years old or older
Duties and Responsibilities:
Seamlessly and deliberately integrate Biblical truth and Christian values into day to day work
Manage the daily care and supervision of up to twenty (20) boarding students
Work with the team of boarding parents and on-duty Residence Life team members to share responsibility and oversight of all boarding students
Interact with and develop relationships with boarding students
Guide and support the students in their school activities and decisions
Enforce Residence Life Handbook policies and guidelines
Facilitate shopping and recreational trips and activities for students
Communicate and interact with Residence Life Team
Take an active role in ensuring the school's effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing pertinent information and commentary to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives
Consistently partner and communicate with parents in the shared desire of student growth and success by providing academic information, suggesting educational and social resources, and addressing parents' concerns
Engage in ongoing communication and collaboration with Brook Hill team members in order to strengthen student performance and support
Participate in the broader ministry of Brook Hill by contributing time, talent and treasure beyond assigned role and responsibilities
Continue professional and technical growth by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Other duties as assigned by the Director
House Parents are on every other day and every other weekend. House Parents come back on duty at 10:00 PM each night, if they are off-duty that particular day. All House Parents are required to obtain a Commercial Drivers License, enabling them to drive a Brook Hill bus.
