Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Lead Associate, Warehouse Operations is to support the Warehouse Supervisor through outbound management of the warehouse floor and to facilitate effective warehouse operations through direction of warehouse staff, in accordance with operational priorities. This job also delegates work among the warehouse staff and produces reports on workforce productivity and quality. The Lead Associate, Warehouse Operations also communicates with customers outside the warehouse to communicate disruptions, provide updates on delivery timeframes and ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Assist with training new employees on company and departmental procedures as appropriate
Work closely with leadership team to ensure safety, productivity, and quality standards are met including coaching associates
Coordinating housekeeping, inventory control, and complying with all QRA and safety requirements and regulations
With supervisors, plan and coordinate daily workflow and assignments in alignment with warehouse priorities
Leading team meetings, including safety and quality discussions
Solving minor issues and general employee inquiries
Working in production as needed
Directs workflows on the floor of the warehouse, including packing, shipping and managing of shipping schedules.
Coordinates with Warehouse Supervisors to align on warehouse and inventory priorities, in alignment with operational objectives.
Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow up skills
2+ years experience in a warehouse/distribution environment preferred
Proficient in Microsoft office, Excel knowledge preferred
Prior knowledge working with a WMS system
Previous experience leading a team and sharing feedback with employees
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Previous material handling equipment experience (MHE) preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift.
Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice.
Comfort working with heights 20-30 feet regularly.
Adherence to site safety regulations including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel toed safety shoes, and material handling equipment safety harness; accountable to Cardinal Health’s EHS as well as QRA policies and procedures.
Aptitude to work in a fast paced distribution environment while meeting hourly established distribution quotas and performance standards
Self-motivated with ability to work in a team-oriented environment with limited supervision and an emphasis on customer satisfaction
Ability to comprehend and accurately process paperwork in accordance with policies and procedures
Flexibility/adaptability coupled with good multi-tasking skills
