Delaware North Lead Data Governance Analyst, Data Quality in Buffalo, New York

The Opportunity

Delaware North is searching for a Lead Data Governance Analyst, Data Quality to join our Enterprise Data team in Buffalo, New York. This new role serves as a thought leader and an influencer who understands the business needs and can translate those requirements to IT thereby increasing the capacity of the analytics competency across the enterprise.

The lead analyst is the technical partner to the data governance domain steward and is responsible for moderately complex data analysis, preparation, and visualization. They will use their technical and domain expertise to translate data into meaningful insights for teams and leaders to confidently execute. The incumbent exhibits a proficiency with the tools and technical skillsets necessary for their area of responsibility. The ideal candidate should have advanced analytics, data engineering and a citizen data science set of skills.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $79900 - $107800 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. Responsibilities

  • Manage projects to scope requirements for data marts to be used for analysis and coordinate input and approvals from multiple stakeholders across Delaware North

  • Take the lead on reports and dashboards that enable managers, operators, and team members to better understand our business and facilitate key decisions

  • Participate in the identification, definition, and testing of company-wide metrics

  • Responsible for profiling metrics identified in each domain

  • Build and apply data quality rules to data sources and visualize in a scorecard

  • Build syntax, semantic, and integration data quality checks

  • Build data quality scorecards and measure against thresholds and targets

  • Create data quality improvement plans and work with the data governance domain steward

  • Run cross-departmental projects with multiple contributors

  • Develop, and document a content governance structure and process

  • Actively test for data integrity issues, proactively identifying potential risks for data inconsistencies across data sources and/or reports

  • Create and maintain KPI dashboards that demonstrate to the organization what data quality is relative to targets

  • Thought leader who influences and collaborates across the enterprise

  • Highly self-motivated and directed with a strong sense of curiosity

  • Faces organizational challenges with energy and resiliency

  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes in both technology and business environments. Viewed as an internal change agent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Information Management, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics or a related field

  • 4+ years of experience working in quantitative/data analyst roles with hospitality, food and beverage, lodging and retail experience preferred

  • Experience working with large data repositories and/or relational databases such as SQL

  • Experience with data quality tools

  • Experience with BI tools a plus

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Experience with Python, SAS, R or Excel

  • Strong communication skills with good business acumen and insight, gathering and understanding requirements.

  • Understanding of standard data models/schemas

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
