Description

Under the direction of the Food Farmacy Dietitian, the Food Pantry Coordinator oversees the operations of the food pantry, including but not limited to supervision and coordination of food pantry volunteers, management of daily client intake and essential paperwork, purchasing and restocking of food pantry items, cost and quality control, monthly statistics and reports as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage client intake which includes but not limited to proper documentation and filing of paperwork, working with individuals of different ethnic backgrounds and languages, and ensuring client confidentiality.

  • Maintains food pantry inventory by placing orders with FeedMore WNY and working with retail partnerships to ensure product procurement.

  • Trains, schedules and provides daily supervision of food pantry volunteers which may include both student volunteers and community volunteers.

  • Packs food pantry orders and stocks shelves as needed.

  • Responsible for implementing food pantry policies and procedures.

  • Must be available Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays for the needs of the pantry.

  • Assist with any and all mission work as needed and requested with some or no prior notice including, but not limited to: serving as a truck spotter, helping with Farm Market/Community Garden/Freight Farms/on and off site food distributions, preparation of meals and serving home-delivered meals.

  • Other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement is a High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Candidate should have experience supervising volunteers or working within a non-profit organization.

  • Skills in verbal and written communication.

  • Ability to plan and organize multiple work tasks.

  • Good interpersonal communication skills are essential.

  • Multi-lingual candidates are highly desired.

  • Must have knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and database software. Must have a high level of understanding and management of google spreadsheets.

  • A current and valid NYS driver’s license and access to an automobile.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • ServSafe certified preferred.

Salary Description

$20.00/hr. *Biweekly Pay Periods
