Our design team is a highly collaborative group of talented designers; they play a key role in defining and shaping the experience of every product across Instructure’s portfolio. They go through great lengths to engage with our customers, as gaining empathy proves to be one of the greatest design tools in the kit. Working closely with product managers and developers, our designers craft purposeful, usable and accessible products and features that don’t just meet the immediate needs of today, but those to come as the world’s education system continues to move online.
We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our collaborative and motivated team. You have a passion for combining seamless interaction with beautiful visual design. Your work is easy to navigate, logically organized, engaging, and accessible. Your designs reflect the highest standard of usability and simplicity to the millions we serve. You can create visual content, including charts and graphs, that transform data sets to qualitative analysis and compelling visuals.
What you'll be doing:
Play an influential role in designing workflows for educators, students, and people that support teaching and learning
Partner closely with product managers and developers to solve complex problems and ensure the highest quality solutions, designs, and functionality
Measure the success of products after release
Be an advocate for A11y best practices
Work with a rapid, iterative mindset, being open and flexible to changes based on user feedback
Initiate and lead user research activities with our customers and users
Build prototypes for user testing
Use and contribute to a design system to create products with consistent interactions and a shared visual language
You will be/have:
At least 5 years of experience designing for large scale digital products
A portfolio representing your strong design work (visual and UX) on complex digital products
Self-motivated with a passion for design
Strong problem solving skills
Strong data storytelling skills
Strong communication skills, verbal and written
Strong work ethic, sense of accountability and ownership
Strong attention to detail and a systematic thinker
Highly self-motivated, with experience leveraging Design Systems
Great team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
The ability to iterate rapidly
Familiarity of user expectations and usage for mobile
Prototyping experience (such as inVision, Figma) desired
Experience with responsive web design
