Kuehne+Nagel Sea Logistics Operations Manager in Budapest, Hungary

Your Role
In this role, you will lead a team of 14, who are responsible to carry out all tasks related to operational sea logistics. You oversee delivering operational excellence while continuously optimizing production cost. You continuously develop the sea logistics export/import operations, enhance operational capability, and deliver increased profitability. Responsibility is also given for business development regarding carrier procurement and management.
Your Responsibilities
Ensure operational excellence in high-quality shipment management, carrier management and export/import services
Ensure customers complaints are followed up and resolved as a priority
Develop pricing strategies (liaise on pricing / RFQ preparation)
Closely cooperate with Sea Logistics Customer Care Manager and Systems & Processes for optimized customer experience
Actively manage interfaces and information / knowledge exchange
Contribute as process owner to continuous improvements of processes and controls for lean and cost-efficient processes, and ensure the highest levels of productivity within the organization
Optimize proceedings to ensure development of sea logistics operational KPIs and support to develop new / existing customer targets
Ensure financial closing (month, year) activities, and support the BU manager and finance team to ensure proper administration (AR/AP invoices)
Your Skills and Experiences
You have a solid understanding of the operational processes in sea logistics, gained in a freight forwarding company
You have at least 2-3 years’ experience in managing a team
You are precise and detail-oriented, when it comes to administration, but you have the right mind-set to oversee complex processes
As a manager, you know how to develop and motivate the people in your team
You act in a compliant and ethical manner at all times
You always look for opportunities of improvement
