The HDGT Global Project Finance Leader is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financials for a portfolio of projects, partnering with Operations, Functions, and HDGT Finance leadership to achieve outcomes. The leader is responsible for overseeing teams performing project set up, project margin reviews, pacing validation, monthly & quarterly closing activities, account reconciliation, assisting with Stat & Tax audits by providing appropriate data.

What you ’ll do

As the HDGT Global Project Finance Leader, you will:

  • Oversee all financial aspects of Accounting and Closing for HDGT NU - Heavy Duty Gas Turbine New Units projects in scope including, actuals booking, revenue recognition, close, and reconciliations

  • Lead & develop a team to simplify and create world class standard processes & policies across multiple regions & ERPs.

  • Ensure Accounting for financials of the projects is in line with GAAP (e.g., revenue recognition, journal entries, etc.) and per the global standards set by the business

  • Oversee all financial aspects of project accounting for HDGT New Units projects including project setup, actuals booking, revenue recognition, manual journal entries, and reconciliations.

  • Supervise Margin Review calculations to enable HDGT NU Operations Project Finance Managers to work with project managers and optimize performance of projects

  • Partner with Functions, Operations, and other partners as needed to validate and collect information

  • Ensure coordination between operations and HDGT NU project team members to validate project data, prepare financial output, etc. and assist operations by supporting on processing change orders, recording bad debt, etc.

  • Report results to the HDGT NU Finance team to enable informed discussion with the business

  • Support project handover reviews from Inquiry to Order (ITO), to Order to Remittance (OTR) for the largest and most complex deals i.e. T&C clarifications, project setup, payment security, hedging evaluation, etc.

  • Drive a spirit & letter of excellence in Controllership (e.g., adherence to GE policies, transfer of best practices, internal controls, etc.).

  • Provide internal and external audit support relating to project accounting activity, balance sheet and P&L

  • Champion LEAN culture, lead transformation efforts in alignment with broader finance strategy, guide continuous improvement of processes, & prioritize automation opportunities.

  • Identify, recruit, grow, and retain talent with appropriate levels of expertise to deliver on the daily management and/or transformational priorities of the organization.

What you’ll bring (B asic Q ualification s)

  • BS in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent international degree / equivalent knowledge or experience

  • Extensive experience in finance HDGT NU - Heavy Duty Gas Turbine New Units or operations function in progressively larger positions of responsibility

  • Relevant Financial Systems & Data Experience

  • Fluent English knowledge is essential

What will make you stand out

  • Strong understanding of USGAAP and statutory accounting principles with ability to translate accounting requirements to ERP solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver with focus, prioritize and perform in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly

  • Expertise in relevant ERPs (e.g. PowerMax, and CPM)

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize under pressure

  • Deep process improvement experience

  • Excellent time management, organizational and data driven skills

  • Demonstrated adaptability/flexibility: open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or ability to work in ambiguous situations

  • Preference will be given to current Gas Power Finance employees.
