As a Senior Technical Writer at Resideo you will develop high-quality documentation to enable Resideo's global audience to sell and install home comfort, safety, security, and energy efficiency products. You will collaborate with cross-functional product development teams to research and publish content across multiple platforms including online, mobile, and print formats serving a diverse audience including installers, homeowners, and sales.

In this role, you will conduct detailed interviews to determine project scope, target audiences, task flows, and technical requirements. You will author and validate technical content, ensuring accuracy and usability through thorough testing and expert reviews. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our documentation processes by prototyping and evaluating tools for content creation, management, and delivery.

Your work will play a critical role in ensuring Resideo remains a trusted choice for contractors, distributors, and end-users by providing clear, effective performance support resources.

JOB DUTIES:

• Collaborate with Engineering, Support, Project Management, and Marketing to define documentation architecture, requirements, audiences, and technical information.

• Create clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documentation including installation and setup guides, end user manuals, technical bulletins, and packaging used by technical professionals and homeowners.

• Manages documentation plans, schedules, review, and approval processes.

• Direct the work of illustrators creating assembly and wiring diagrams and product labels.

• Develop and publish single-sourced performance support materials across multiple formats, including mobile and embedded in-app platforms.

• Design and maintain print-ready layouts for small booklets and foldouts.

• Prepare single-sourced documentation for release to printer and follow appropriate system-based configuration and content management procedures.

• Maintain product domain expertise in assigned HVAC, plumbing, or security systems.

• Ensure technical documentation meets international regulatory standards.

• Manage and implement documentation translations using AI tools.

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Demonstrated experience creating and publishing content for mobile applications and digital platforms.

• Proficiency with a single-sourced publication tool, ideally MadCap Flare or MadCap Central, though experience with similar tools such as DITA or Paligo will also be considered.

• Ability to independently manage multiple projects, deadline-driven projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency with Adobe products including Adobe Illustrator and In Design for high-quality visual and layout design.

WE VALUE:

• Experience in the HVAC, plumbing, or security systems industry.

• Familiarity with MadCap or single-source publishing methodologies and tools.

• Proficiency creating graphics and diagrams.

• Project Management experience including planning, coordination, and stakeholder communication.

• Ability to take initiative and work with limited direction in a matrix organisation.

• Excitement to work in a collaborative, team environment.
