Robert Half Senior Procurement Manager in Bucks County, Pennsylvania
Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Wholesale Distribution industry for a Senior Procurement Manager in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be leading procurement processes and strategies, managing supplier relationships, and overseeing stock strategies for the company.
Responsibilities:
• Driving the procurement team and processes across the company portfolio.
• Managing the procurement of Burpee seed supply and collaborating closely with seed supply vendors.
• Formulating a procurement process strategy to fulfill the company's short and long-term inventory needs.
• Leading the identification and assessment of potential suppliers, both nationally and internationally.
• Supervising the strategy for stock management.
• Ensuring prompt procurement and delivery of all materials in line with the company's strategy and production demands.
• Administering vendor evaluations and managing the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process for optimal quality and cost.
• Building and maintaining robust relationships with all suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Analyzing market trends, identifying supply chain risks, and formulating strategic plans to mitigate those risks.
• Collaborating with the Finance team to develop annual purchasing budgets.
• Identifying new sourcing opportunities to enhance brand strategies.
• Conducting cost analyses to ensure alignment with market trends.
• Managing the system's open purchase orders.
• Overseeing daily purchasing operations to enhance responsiveness and efficiency.
• Predicting purchasing needs in cooperation with key stakeholders.
• Resolving complex vendor and receiving issues effectively.
• Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with key vendors for long-term partnerships.
Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a procurement role within the Wholesale Distribution industry - agricultural, food or similar industry ideal!
• Demonstrated proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions
• Comprehensive understanding and experience with budget processes
• Proficient in buying processes and purchasing activities, with a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness
• Experience managing a purchasing department, including staff supervision and development
• Proven track record in purchasing management and procurement management
• Experience with corporate procurement strategies and implementation
• Knowledge and experience in retail buying, preferably within a wholesale distribution context
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
