Fabricator TIG Welder

Job Description

Hiring immediately for HVAC Sheet Metal Shop Fabricator & MIG and TIG welder on galvanized, stainless, and aluminum for long-standing, family-owned mechanical contractor. Company scope of work includes design, fabrication, and installation of HVAC and dust collection systems, and produces specialty sheet metal products for commercial and industrial accounts. Shop fabricator position requires layout, fabrication, daily cleanup of workstations, and pickup/deliveries of materials to/from job sites. Position also requires receiving and unloading materials using a forklift, as well as delivering material to job sites.

Perform day-to-day fabrication activities, working with galvanized sheet metal, stainless steel, and aluminum. Ensure compliance with internal fabrication processes and industry standards. Maintain quality standards for assigned projects. Maintain a professional attitude with internal customers and co-workers. Communicate daily with Shop Supervisor on potential schedule delays and rework. Provide clear and concise communications with Shop Supervisor. Report damaged tools, materials, and equipment to Shop Supervisor. Flexible to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required. Comply with company, industry, and regulatory safety standards and protocols. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to read cut sheets. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. Must be able to use a tape measure. Ability to operate shop equipment to include but not limited to: Shear, Break, Drive Machine, Spot Welder, and Forklift. Develop sheet metal projects by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assembly; calculating requirements; determining appropriate methods; sketching layout. Fabricate components by using equipment to cut, form, and fasten pieces. Verify results by inspecting and testing components. Accurately keep track of time per job. Maintain a safe work environment by following procedures; complying with legal regulations. Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

Family-owned and operated company, 10 employees, but growing. M-F shift, 6am-2:30pm.
