Job Description

Role Purpose

The role is responsible for supporting indirect tax functions across the regions. This position is expected to assist regional tax functions with compliance, audit support, tax data analytics, reporting and tax research as needed.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Support the Regional Tax Departments as per local needs

  • Assist the Regional tax teams with research and problem solving, based on standards and procedures, while handling multiple assignments

  • Own and maintain Indirect Tax tools as OneSource and Compliance Workflow. The tasks include but are not limited to setting up new users, troubleshoot error messages, maintain accurate data, support regional supper users and occasional train new users

  • Handle Compliance software tasks - support other tax functions with different activities as adjustments, export/download returns, etc

  • Prepare monthly estimated tax payment files, coordinate and track tax payments and provide to regional Tax contacts

  • Assist with data analytics projects, including the understanding and manipulation of data across multiple data sources

  • Support Regional Tax Leads with preparation of key performance metrics reports

  • Provide support for tax audits ensuring requested information is provided on a timely basis and supporting any gaps or findings.

  • Support in implementing projects as assigned, as per Indirect Tax strategy

  • Proactive identification of process improvement opportunities and support process improvement initiatives to streamline processes.

  • Analyse and escalate identified issues and concerns to manager for timely resolution.

  • Document and maintain current or new processes and incorporate documentation updates as required

  • Perform simple but varied tasks in compliance with service level agreement, process, policies, and procedures

  • Assess identified issues and collate documentation to assist in investigating and in resolving common and recurring issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent relevant courses

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other equivalent Tax Certification (i.e., CTA, CMI, etc) is an advantage, but is not required.

  • 3-4 years of relevant professional experience in Tax or Accounting

  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc)

  • Working knowledge and understanding of accounting standards and procedures and internal controls.

  • Experience working with ERP, e.i., Oracle and Blackline Systems is an advantage, but is not required.

  • Data analytics experience is and advantage, but is not required.
