In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Android Developer to join our development team. As a Junior Android Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Android applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and contribute to the growth of our mobile app portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features for Android applications.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
Debug and resolve software defects and issues.
Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement user-friendly interfaces.
Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in Android development.
Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
Collaborate with the QA team to ensure the quality of the applications.
Assist in the documentation of the development process and application features.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Good understanding of object-oriented programming principles
Minimum 1 year hands-on Android development experience
Proficient in Java and Kotlin programming languages
Previous experience with Android Studio, APIs, Material Design and Android SDK
Basic knowledge for Jetpack Compose, MVI, Flows is a plus
Knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
Problem-solving, analytical skills and CanDo attitude
Good communication (English B1 level or above) and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software
