[We are looking for an experiencedGeneral Maintenance Worker.This person must have knowledge and experience in general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets; painting structures and equipment, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks; replacing broken window panes; and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.]{helvetica",sans-serif"=""}

Repair or replace parts as needed to maintain dormitory and other buildings, equipment, and furnishings in all aspects of facility maintenance. This includes being able to work with various types of materials: woods, plastics, paints, glass, sheet metals, PVC products, greases, oils, etc.

Maintain and operate all plumbing, mechanical, electrical and utility systems ensuring proper and efficient operations of structural and architectural components, appliances and electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning systems and equipment and air compressor systems.

Have knowledge of and be able to work from drawings, models, blue prints, and/or by verbal instructions for completing task assigned.

Determine required materials and supplies relating to preventive maintenance, repair orders, and projects to complete each task.

Have knowledge of and utilize hand tools, small power tools and man lift equipment to complete task.

Properly maintain, clean, and care for tools and equipment as well as maintaining a clean work area.

Perform duties from elevated equipment to include ladders (step or extension), telescoping or scissor lifts, scaffolding and platforms.

Perform routine preventative maintenance on building equipment/furnishings in accordance with the manufacturers operation manuals.

Perform above ground exterior window cleaning utilizing ladders (step or extension), telescoping or scissor lifts, scaffolding and/or platforms.

Perform minor maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to, removing, relocating, and/or installing building furnishings (i.e. pictures, towel dispensers, soap dishes, shelving, etc.); replacing or repairing doors, windows, toilet seats, floats, flappers, thresholds, weather stripping, screens, and emergency/exit lights; painting surfaces; hanging drapery rods and brackets; caulking around showers, sinks and windows; fixing leaks in bathrooms and other piping on center; maintain p-traps, toilets and shower drains; maintain and clean all iron face plates; check cords for damage/wear; and replace carpet tiles and vinyl floors when needed.

Complete documentation on work projects to include material requests, work orders, etc.

Move and arrange heavy office furniture, equipment or supplies as needed.

Respond to emergency situations during and after normal work hours and on weekends and holidays as required.
