SIS is currently seeking a Welder - Maintenance Technician to join our team in Broussard, LA.
Summary:
This job description defines the qualifications, requirements, responsibilities, duties and functions of a Fabrication & Maintenance Technician
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains a safety & productive workplace
Troubleshoots and/or repairs facility, operational and portable equipment as defined by the Company
Completes necessary documentation associated with the equipment maintenance program and fabrication processes
Control inventory and order shop supplies according to Company procedures
Prepares material list based on scale drawings for fabrication or construction projects
Proposes recommendations to improve the equipment maintenance program and fabrication processes
Fabricates infrastructural equipment to support the Operations Department
Performs other duties as assigned by the Fabrication & Maintenance Manager
Education
- High School diploma, GED
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Ability to read scale drawings for fabrication and/or construction projects
Ability to set up a safe and productive work flow
General knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
Weld using stick or MIG methods
Operates forklift and overhead crane
BEHAVIORAL SKILLS
Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisor, and managers
Ability to work independently with occasional supervision
