ID 216112 Job Type Full-time Tesla participates in the E-Verify Program What to Expect This is a 2nd shift position. Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 2:00pm-10:30pm with additional OT on an as-needed basis. The Electrical/Mechanical Machine Builder will be responsible for building our automation equipment and occasionally installing and supporting it at our Tesla facilities. Tasks include performing mechanical assembly, electrical panel wiring, field wiring, troubleshooting and machine integration of industrial automated equipment. What You'll Do Assemble and install equipment at other Tesla locations (30-40% of the time) Manage onsite installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks. Interface with project team (i.e. Controls Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Assemblers, Project Manager, etc.) Build positive relationships coworkers and peers Perform risk mitigation (i.e. anticipate problems before they occur) Troubleshoot and debug (i.e. diagnoses trouble or defects, determines corrective action and repairs system) Ensure that all equipment is in proper working condition after troubleshooting Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on automation system and components Complete service repairs, replacements, upgrades, adjustments, and calibration on automation systems and components following issued tasking, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation instructions. Perform system checkout and assists in automation systems startups for service installed jobs Provide status updates to management on assigned projects Comply with the company's safety procedures Adhere to policies and procedures of Tesla Must be able and willing to travel and work at other Tesla locations. Other duties as assigned by manager This job operates in an assembly shop floor environment. Employees will also work at other Tesla locations While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and loud environments Travel is expected to be up to 30-40% of the time.
