Target Hardware Engineer - Rollout and Deployment in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota

The pay range is $67,800.00 - $122,000.00

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. As an Engineer for Hardware within the Rollout and Deployment Team, you serve as a multi-craft engineer that functions in support of critical tech headed to our Target locations. You will play a role in future tech changes in Target that will keep us competitive in the market, while stable for the team and guest. You will fulfill a role that sees a product cycle through from conception to turnover while also having a voice in business improvements. You show expertise in applying the knowledge you have/learn within infrastructure that will create value within your own team and on to the guests and guest facing teams for Target. You show good problem solving skills and can help the team in triaging operational issues. You leverage your expertise in eliminating repeat occurrences and solving process gaps.

Use your technology acumen to apply and maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies within specialized area(s) of the technology domain. Evaluate new technologies and participate in decision-making, accounting for several factors such as viability within Target’s technical environment, maintainability, and cost of ownership. Initiate and execute research and proof-of-concept activities for new technologies. Participate in routine and non-routine construction, automation, and implementation activities, ensuring successful implementation of infrastructure initiatives. Provide technical oversight and coach others to resolve complex and severe technical issues.

About You:

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of technology support, installation, or design experience

  • Demonstrates proficiency in configuration or physical installation of technology infrastructure devices

  • Demonstrates proficiency in technology incident troubleshooting and resolution

  • Demonstrates familiarity with current and emerging technologies in own scope of responsibility, and develops ability to apply these technologies

  • Demonstrates and continuously builds upon domain-specific knowledge

  • Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise

  • Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education

Additional Skills:

  • Experience installing technology in a retail or industrial environment

  • Experience remotely supporting technology installations

  • Experience utilizing APIs and/or scripting to automate configuration or provisioning of devices

  • 1+ year experience reviewing CAD plans

  • Network or system administration certification
