Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm, 37.5 hours per week.

Description of Duties:

-Coordinate the day-to-day activities of SPRINTER, PACERS, and TRACS -Identify feeder schools such as State University of New York (SUNY), City University of New York (CUNY), Historically Black College Universities (HBCU), and Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) and execute a recruitment plan to increase applications -Maintain records for training programs that will be shared with TRANSPORT Program Manager and/or Principal Investigators-. -Coordinate the application and interview process for respective training program. Additionally, one must collect program application materials and procurement documents for student stipends. -Recruit appropriate mentors, community partners, or lecturers for training programs. -Develop and maintain calendar of events and program structure. -Update curriculum as needed for training programs. -Contribute to dissemination of program outcomes through manuscripts and presentations. -Participate in writing activities to supportand expand research education in TRANSPORT -Function as a liaison to community organizations. -Assist students with appropriate training and onboarding such as CITI trainings. -Coordinate vendors for the closeout ceremony for training programs. -Coordinate and book locations for student ceremonies for trainingprograms.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED: Masters level or higher degree in epidemiology, public health, or community health related fields. PREFERRED: The role of the Research Education Coordinator is to provide oversight and coordinate the research education activities of students participating in the research education programs at SUNY Downstate. This entails providing student oversight, scheduling workshops, placing students in community-based settings, evaluating student progress, and tracking outcomes. The candidate must have the following: Masters level or higher degree in epidemiology, public health or community health related fields; excellent writing and communications skills; a basic understanding of data analysis and descriptive statistics; must be able to conduct a comprehensive literature search, interpret literature and data from several disciplines and use these data to develop new curricula material for undergraduate and graduate research programs. The candidate must also have strong interpersonal skills and be able to supervise undergraduate and graduate students (MD, MD/PhD, DrPH, DNP etc.) in community-based research settings. The candidate should also have experience with program development and implementation. The Research Education Coordinator must be able to work with students, recruit partnership schools, develop recruitment strategy to identify students, meet and interview prospective applicants, and monitor their progress.
