It helps farmers enhance soil fertility and water retention to protect crops from drought and reduced irrigation. AquaSteady is a cross-disciplinary, multi-establishment research initiative with Phase II funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation Convergence Accelerator. We're seeking an experienced <strong>Production Technician</strong> to oversee the hydrogel production in the Pratt Institute labs.<br><br><strong>Objectives of this role</strong><br><ul> <li>Maintain production schedule for on-time completion</li> <li>Take an active role in planning production workflow and equipment</li> <li>Identify and address key concerns that may alter or impact the production schedule</li> <li>Monitoring and maintaining work safety, order in the production space, and good conditions of equipment</li> <li>Planning and managing supplies orders</li> <li>Oversee shipping schedule for on-time delivery to our research partners</li> </ul> <br><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br><ul> <li>Monitor and assist with production in the lab</li> <li>Partner with the design team on product development</li> <li>Provide status reports to Principal Investigator and Project Manager</li> <li>Assist in designing an efficient production workflow</li> <li>Work to establish a physical and digital inventory of materials, supplies, and product</li> <li>Monitor Graduate Assistants and other production assistants</li> <li>Troubleshoot equipment-related issues</li> <li>Oversee shipping and receiving of materials with partner institutions</li> <li>Assist with liaising between the internal team and outside contractors to design automated production</li> <li>Meet established deadlines</li> <li>Ensure that health and safety regulations are met</li> </ul> <br><strong>This is a full-time temporary position. </strong><br><br>35 hours per week until November 30, 2024, can be renewable for up to 2 years, contingent on grant funding. This L153 Clerical/Technical position is contingent on budgetary approval and is 100% grant-funded.<br><br><br><b>Qualifications:</b><br><ul> <li>Two or more years of experience in a production or product-management role</li> <li>Ability to work effectively within a team</li> </ul> <br><strong>Preferred skills and qualifications</strong><br><ul> <li>Experience in production, manufacturing, operations, or related field</li> <li>Proficiency with Excel and Google Suite</li> &a p;lt;li>Good written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Attention to detail</li> </ul> <br><strong>Salary</strong> is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is <strong>$60,000 - 65,000/year</strong>.
