Fedcap Mail Clerk in Brooklyn, New York

Essential Job Functions:

  • Process mail/packages received from couriers.

  • Sort mail and label accountable mail (USPS, UPS, Fedex).

  • Deliver mail to designated mail floors using elevator or stairs and to Post Office as requested.

  • Metering of letters flats and parcels for out-going shipments.

  • Must be able to walk on client floors (up to 8 floors) in one day to deliver daily mail and packages.

  • May require one individual to do 2 runs in one day.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Knowledge of general office practices.

  • Mail room knowledge preferred.

  • Knowledge and use of computer and mail equipment.

  • Must be able to read and write English to aid in processing mail.

  • Must have basic knowledge of computer operation.

  • Must be able to handle maximum package weight of 75 pounds.

  • Capable of operating or being trained to operate Mail Meters and UPS shipment station.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of

  • mission, vision and goals of Fedcap Rehabilitation Services and The Fedcap Group and execution of relevant policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrable ability to

  • define assignments or projects clearly.

  • adapt to potentially stressful situations.

  • communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no direct report.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m...

Travel:

Travel is primarily local during the business day.
