Robert Half Fund Accounting Analyst in Brooklyn, New York
Description We are looking for a highly skilled Fund Accounting Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This position is based in Brooklyn, New York, and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in fund accounting and administration, along with the ability to manage complex workflows and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare accurate and timely Net Asset Values (NAVs) while maintaining high attention to detail.
• Oversee daily operations using workflow and exception-based accounting tools to ensure quality and compliance.
• Complete all tasks within deadlines, providing proper documentation and evidence as required by corporate policies and regulatory standards.
• Adhere to established controls and procedures outlined in company policies and operational manuals.
• Collaborate with internal teams during the onboarding process for new client mandates, ensuring a smooth transition.
• Develop a strong understanding of the client base, including their prospectuses and operational documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and minimize risks.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless operations. Requirements • Strong understanding of mutual fund accounting principles and administration, including fundamental accounting theories.
• Proven ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced and globally integrated environment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on critical thinking and decision-making.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with exception-based accounting tools and general ledger systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in fund accounting operations or related roles.
• Prior experience in team leadership and coordinating with multiple vendors, clients, and shared services is preferred.
